About Colorado River Regional Crisis Services

Help. Hope. Healing

Our Story

Supporting Survivors Since 1997

Founded in 1997, Colorado River Regional Crisis Services (CRRCS) was created to provide compassionate support to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and sex trafficking.

Originally known as the Colorado River Regional Crisis Shelter, we began by offering emergency shelter and crisis support to survivors seeking safety. As community needs expanded, so did our commitment.

In 2015, we changed our name to Colorado River Regional Crisis Services to reflect our broader mission of providing not only residential services, but also community based and mobile advocacy throughout La Paz County and surrounding rural communities.

Today, CRRCS remains dedicated to meeting survivors where they are through trauma informed, survivor centered services grounded in dignity, safety, and hope.

Program Philosophy

At Colorado River Regional Crisis Services (CRRCS), our work is guided by the belief that every person deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to heal.

We provide confidential, survivor centered, trauma informed, and holistic services that honor each survivor’s unique experience. Rather than taking a one size fits all approach, we meet individuals where they are, supporting informed choices and empowering survivors to move forward on their own terms.

Our role is to walk alongside survivors by offering advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and connection to resources that promote healing, stability, and hope.

CRRCS also believes that lasting change requires community involvement. Through education and outreach, we work to increase awareness, strengthen prevention efforts, and encourage compassionate, informed responses to domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and sex trafficking.

Together, we can build safer, stronger communities where survivors are believed, supported, and empowered to heal and thrive.

Rooted in the heart of rural western Arizona, our program embraces the unique cultures and experiences of La Paz County and the Colorado River Indian Tribes (CRIT) reservation. Our advocates walk alongside survivors with care and respect for culture, offering confidential, personalized support that honors each person’s journey.
